Sabrina Ali knows that small changes can make big differences. In just a few short years, her participation as a member of Amnesty International UM-Dearborn took her from Secretary to Vice President and, ultimately, President. Sabrina is a general member of the Campus Video Network, Student Michigan Education Association and Sigma Alpha Pi National Society for Leadership and Success. She is also a former Orphan Sponsorship Associate for Helping Hand for Relief and Development, which she took on soon after being a volunteer for Alternative Spring Break Detroit. This Difference Maker’s past accomplishments also include the position of Sisterhood Coordinator for the Muslim Student Association and Team Leader of United Way for Southeastern Michigan.
“I live by the philosophy that everyone should make an effort to leave a situation better than what it was when they arrived at it, whether that means helping a friend work through a problem, helping students reach their personal potential, or simply picking up a piece of litter.” It’s leading by example that earns Sabrina this prestigious honor.
