Sarah Pinto has always aimed high since she first stepped foot on UM-Dearborn’s campus. And being named a “Difference Maker” adds to an already impressive list of accolades.
Sarah has been honored with earning the Chancellor's Medallion. She has made the dean’s list every semester and will be graduating with high distinction.
Sarah is an active member of UM-Dearborn’s Golden Key Honor Society. She spends time off campus volunteering with a girl scout troop, helping them plan upcoming activities and field trips.
“I loved seeing the girls every week and I think they looked forward to seeing me too,” Sarah said. “It felt good to know that I was a part of their lives and could be a positive role model for them.”
Sarah has never looked for recognition for all the work she puts in, but being named a “Difference Maker” shows it paid off.
“I worked hard in school and it feels good to have that recognized,” Sarah said. “I always did it for myself, but the recognition has always been appreciated.”
Sarah has always dreamed of helping others and making a difference in peoples’ lives.
“I am driven by my desire to help others,” she said. “I chose teaching as my career path because I love working with children and want to make a difference in their lives. Teachers have made lasting impressions on me throughout my life. I want to be the teacher that children remember years later because I made them feel appreciated, smart, and important.”
