Kimberly Doherty is a determined individual who is always seeking to improve her community. One of her efforts included helping to implement a Multiple Sclerosis walk in the Downriver Michigan area, an event that helps the National Multiple Sclerosis Society move toward a cure. Another effort involved volunteered her time at Meadows of Southgate II, a senior living facility located in her hometown of Southgate, where Kimberly helped residents develop basic word processing and internet skills.
In addition to her service to the community, Kimberly is actively engaged with student organizations and campus events. She was the project manager for the College of Business’s First Annual Professional Development Week, an event that helped students prepare for the transition from college to career by having business professionals come to the university and teach seminars that provided crucial information for post-graduation success. She managed to perform this volunteer work, while maintaining high grades that have earned her University Honors, membership in the BBA Honors Program, Golden Key International Honour Society, Beta Gamma Sigma, and the distinction of being a James B. Angell Scholar award.
