Tracy Blakely-Thompson, D.Min. (’92 SOE) is president of Inspiring One, LLC, an organization that supplies therapy and training to individuals and organizations. She has consulted for companies, such as Comcast and Jaguar.
Tracy received her master’s degree from Ashland Theological Seminary and her doctorate in ministry from United Theological Seminary. Through her experience and education, Tracy has truly served as a great resource and advocate to victims of domestic violence, both in the community and on the campus. She is a committed volunteer for HAVEN and UM-Dearborn’s Women’s Resource Center, serving as a guest speaker for Take Back the Night and The Vagina Monologues. She is an active member of the American Society for Training and Development, the Council of Clergywomen of Metropolitan Detroit and the UM-Dearborn School of Education Alumni Affiliate. She has made her life work, speaking about the power of change.
Tracy credits the curriculum at UM-Dearborn for “enabling her to stand head and shoulders above the rest, knowing that what she learned was right.”
Tracy also helped launch the School of Education’s Dean’s Alumni Council, where she will work to create a speaker series and enhance the teacher academies—which are the School of Education’s continuing education opportunities for area teachers. As one nominator put it, “It is her commitment to the greater good that truly makes her a difference maker.”
