Anthony's Story

Anthony Viscogliosi (’84 CASL) has over 25 years of experience in the orthopedic industry as an accomplished founder, entrepreneur, CEO, board member, leading Wall Street analyst, banker, global financier, author, visionary and lecturer. He was the first Wall Street orthopedic focused investment analyst and has authored more than 7,000 pages of investment research and has executed more than 170 orthopedic deals. He has a proven track record as demonstrated by the founding of over 20 successful companies, raising approximately $2 billion in capital to fund orthopedic businesses and generating approximately in $500 million in investment returns to date.

As a founder of Small Bone Innovations, Inc. (SBI), he raised $42.2 million – the single largest round of venture capital financing in orthopedic history at that time. His leadership in SBI was so astounding, that in 2010 the Wall Street Journal identified the organization as one of the Top 50 Private Companies in North America. Medical treatment is so important to Mr. Viscogliosi and his family that recently he, along with his brothers, funded the Viscogliosi Spine Center at New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases.

Aside from his commitment to orthopedics, Anthony also maintains a national commitment. He is a veteran of the Navy Reserves, and has risen to the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Anthony also serves on the board of more than 15 companies and non-profits, including Vice Chairman of the Board of Junior Achievement in New York and member of the Woodrow Wilson Council in Washington D.C.
