While pursuing her dream of a college education at UM-Dearborn, Cathryn took the time to contribute to student groups dedicated to creating a better campus for everyone. She's been a member of Women in Learning & Leadership (WILL), the Students and Faculty for Equality (SAFE) program and a student member of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, & Questioning (LGBTQ) Task Force. In 2009, she founded a book club, Pride and Pages: A LGBTQ and Friends Book Group.
Cathryn’s ultimate goal is to work with faculty and staff toward making our campus and community a warm and welcoming environment for LGBTQ persons of all ages, and to use her experience and skills assisting other students in overcoming adversity, both personally and through academia. She has also interned at U-M Ann Arbor’s Spectrum Center, where she worked on identifying best practices and programs for consideration on U-M Dearborn’s campus.
