Gary's Story

Gary Heitman (’77 B.A.) had a successful career that has spanned 40 years in global IT project management at Ford Motor Company and as a consultant and development executive in the staffing industry. He now spends his time mentoring others, connecting job seekers to opportunities and serving his community as a trustee of Plymouth Township, Michigan. At UM-Dearborn, Heitman has served as a reliable volunteer including programs such as alumni mentoring, mock interviews, and has been an Alumni Day session speaker where he helps students and alumni build an online professional presence and teaches them best networking practices.
