Javon's Story

Javon Hindo is a person who actively strives to make the world a more just place. When she served as vice president of UM-Dearborn’s chapter of Amnesty International, she demonstrated a deep commitment to human rights advocacy. The energy and enthusiasm she brought to this position helped earn UM-Dearborn’s chapter of Amnesty International both the University’s Outstanding Student Organization Award and the Student Group Award from Amnesty-USA.

Javon has also worked hard to improve life on campus and in the state of Michigan. She served as president of the History Honor Society and secretary of Phi Alpha Delta, and worked as an intern in the Alumni Relations Office at UM-Dearborn. During her time at UM-Dearborn, Javon also interned for Governor Jennifer Granholm and the Wayne County Third Circuit Court, and she worked for Yatooma & Associates Law Firm. Javon’s career goal is to become a lawyer, an ideal position for a person like Javon who is committed to making a difference in the lives of others.
