Finding community through greek life

“My fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. has made a giant impact on my life. Through this organization, I was able to become someone who is more outgoing and outspoken. This organization also helped me engage with my community on a deeper level community service is something that we pride ourselves on.”

“I also served as the president of the Nu Nu Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. During my time as the president of my chapter, we received the chapter of the year award for our region.

The importance of giving back

“Being a part of Phi Beta Sigma has granted me a plethora of opportunities to serve my community and give back. One such example is our annual Thanksgiving Day of Service that my chapter does every year. We would wake up really early on Thanksgiving Day and go volunteer at Westminster Church and help prepare meals for the less fortunate. We help prep the kitchen, cook the food, and package it for delivery. This service event never fails to leave its mark on me as I feel that I am doing more on Thanksgiving than just eating and talking to my family, I am helping someone celebrate their Thanksgiving.”

Finding a career that matches your passions

“My passion is music which translates to my career goal, I want to do PR in the music industry. I had an internship with an upcoming record label and it was a really educational experience. My minor in music was ultimately what helped me to discover my passion for music and helped me to decide that I wanted to do something with music.”
