I am currently employed by Ernst and Young and have been learning a great deal of information about how a business works throughout audit procedures. EY also is very involved in the community and I've been able to volunteer in the community through different events and organizations.
What makes you a Difference Maker?
My contributions to the school make me a Difference Maker. As Beta Alpha Psi's President, I have been working hard to bring change to our organization to improve on some of our issues that we've had in the past. Beta Alpha Psi has given me a great deal of resources in my years here, and I want the organization to thrive when I graduate. My contributions to the organization will hopefully help future members of Beta Alpha Psi get the same benefits that I did.
Campus Achievements:
I have a GPA of 3.97 throughout my semesters at the University of Michigan-Dearborn as well as a 4.0 GPA in all of my business related courses. I currently am the President of Beta Alpha Psi's Kappa Sigma Chapter and am active in our professional and volunteer activities. I've done four internships, and I'm the recipient of awards such as Chancellor's Scholarship, William J. Branstrom Freshman Award, Financial Executives International Award, James B. Angell Scholar Award.
Leadership Experiences:
As mentioned earlier, I am the President of Beta Alpha Psi on campus. As President, I organize our meetings and invite professional accounting, finance, and ITM speakers to our meetings in order to present to and network with our members. We also will be competing in a Best Practices competition, so I have been busy working on our presentation. Off campus, I actively volunteer with VITA by helping prepare tax returns, and I'm also a tutor.
What is your Dream Career?
Thankfully, I'm getting a great start at my dream career. I'll be starting full time with Ernst & Young after completing my CPA requirements, and I hope to stay with them long term.
What was your most Defining Moment at UM-Dearborn?
My most defining moment was the awesome amount of internship opportunities that I got. My first internship was with Rock Ventures in their internal audit department, followed by a financial advising role at Northwestern Mutual. These internships helped me get a tax internship with UHY and an audit internship with EY. The many experiences that I had helped me understand exactly what I wanted to do with my degree by getting a chance to experience four very different positions as four unique companies.
