What makes you a Difference Maker?

I love to empower people. I also love to connect with others because I feel like every person has something unique to bring to the table that we can all benefit from.

Campus Achievements:

University Honors 2015, Supplemental Instructions Leader, Peer-Tutor with the Student Success Center, Research assistant in both the Human Learning and Creativity (HuLC) Lab, and the Interpersonal, Relationship, Emotions and Personality (IREP) Lab

Leadership Experiences:

At UM-Dearborn, I was President of the Association of Students in Psychology, a Supplemental Instructions Leader, and a Private Tutor. This platform allowed me the unique opportunity of connecting with students from all backgrounds. I also volunteered at American Moslem Society (AMS), as a youth committee board member. I helped plan events and advertise AMS on social media. I was involved in fundraising where I raised $20,000 in two weeks to help fund the reconstruction of the Women's prayer area. Recognizing my efforts, AMS nominated me as Volunteer of the month. I am currently volunteering my time at Islamic Center of Detroit (ICD).

What is your Dream Career?

My career goal is to become a licensed Clinical Psychologist and use that platform to not only serve the community at large, but to also make an impact in my local community which is predominantly Arab-American.

What was a Defining Moment at UM-Dearborn?

I think my most defining moment was when I gave an oral presentation at the 2015 CASL Undergraduate Research Showcase. I not only had to speak in front of my peers, but also in front of my professors and other faculty members about a field that I was only starting to absorb. When I heard feedback from the faculty like “you were an amazing speaker”, that gave me a sense of empowerment that I can’t even begin to explain.

I also just got accepted into UD-Mercy's Clinical Psychology PhD program, and I will begin doctoral training starting this fall!
