Roland's Story

Roland Dibra is certainly on the fast track. First off, he was in charge of managing both of the school’s Formula and Baja racing teams, including administrating all related budget, design, and manufacturing concerns.

“Leading a group of current and future engineers who devote their time voluntarily is no easy task…designing, building, testing, and racing two cars each year...we take the knowledge that is learned in the classroom and implement it in real life, in a very competitive arena, against students representing universities from around the world.”

During the first year of his management, Roland led the team to its best performance in the Formula competition, with a car that was the least expensive of all entered.

In 2008, he represented the School of Engineering as Student Government Senator, and also has been part of the Student and Academic Affairs Committee and the Albanian American Student Organization.

Roland was a twice-elected president of the UM-Dearborn Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) chapter and was also interviewed by SAE International for its student member campaign. He has also been featured in two university magazines, Dearborn Engineer and Legacy, and is a member of the Pi Tau Sigma Honor Society.
