Sara's Story

Sara’s display of hard work and self-assurance is not only inspiring but a testament to who she is and what she’s accomplished.

We’ll see you in court

“I am extremely passionate about law and constitutional rights. My dream is to become a judge one day, working in the juvenile court. Throughout college, I have met many inspiring professors which have guided me to law school and have supported me along the way.”

The mentors that guided

“I would consider all of my professors my mentors, however those who had the greatest impact on me were Judge Berry, Professor Osowski, and Professor Rosano. These professors have the knowledge and experience that can easily inspire a student. They encourage students to serve their communities and serve as role models within the community themselves. Beyond being knowledgeable, they are culturally competent and work each day to serve others. I hope that one day I can serve my community as much as they do, with kindness, knowledge, and respect.”

Sara’s journey to law school

“I am a first-generation student. I worked two jobs with over 40 hours a week throughout all of college in order to pay for college. I was a full-time student taking 16-18 credit hours a semester while working 40 hours a week at two jobs, and maintained all A's all semesters of college while studying for the LSAT in my free time. I graduated college in three years (not the usual four) debt-free with two bachelor's degrees and a minor in sociology. I was on the board of two student organizations. Now graduated and attending Law School this fall at the University of Detroit Mercy Law School.”
