What makes you a Difference Maker?
I’m a Difference Maker because I strive for excellence in everything I do. I believe that this mindset is ultimately what’s helped me achieve the level of success I've had and has made me a better person. I’m heavily involved on campus as the President of the Beta Alpha Psi-Kappa Sigma chapter. I try to instill the "strive for excellence" mindset into fellow chapter members by providing career advice, professional development opportunities, access to employers and chances to give back to the community through charitable activities.

Highlight your leadership experiences both on and off campus:
Getting involved on campus is something I encourage everyone to do. I didn't participate in any student organizations my first semester at UM-Dearborn. I soon realized that the routine of going to class and going home wasn't the college experience I was looking for. I began to look for organizations to join and started attending Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) meetings because I was interested in careers in accounting.
After my first couple of meetings, I was really impressed with the professionalism chapter members displayed and joined as an affiliate. I made friends with similar career interests and was able to utilize the connections I developed in order to gain access to leadership opportunities such as Deloitte's Envision Leadership Conference and Ernst & Young's Emerging Leaders Program.
These experiences inspired me to take a leadership role in Beta Alpha Psi. I went on to serve on the executive board of the Beta Alpha Psi chapter as vice president during the Winter 2016 semester and was elected president for the Fall 2016 through Winter 2017 semesters. My experiences on E-board have been very fulfilling and rewarding. I enjoy providing opportunities for others to succeed and passing down the knowledge I've gained through my experiences to fellow chapter members.
What is your dream career and/or long term life goal?
I plan on becoming a certified public accountant and working for an accounting firm. I'm not sure which line of service I’d like to start my career in, but I’ve had a lot of internship experiences to help me make my decision. I’ve previously had internships with Plante Moran as a TRACK intern and Deloitte as an assurance intern. Also, I’ll be interning with Ernst & Young's advisory practice this summer. I’m very fortunate to have these experiences and I’ll make my final decision on where I’d like to start off my career after my internship with EY. Although I’m not sure which path I’d like to take, I know I’ll bring the Michigan Difference with me wherever I go.
What was your most defining moment at UM-Dearborn?
My most defining moment was at the 2016 Meet the Firms event hosted by Beta Alpha Psi-Kappa Sigma. I was tasked with coordinating the event and inviting companies to attend the career fair. I was able to secure 18 companies and $9,000 in donations for our chapter. Additionally, 16 of our chapter members got internships or full-time offers out of the career fair. This was very rewarding for me because I was able to put on an event to help my peers get access to the career opportunities they wished to pursue.
